Rocket American Sign Language Course Review

In this product review we will be going over the Rocket American Sign Language Course.

You may have many reasons for wanting to learn American Sign Language, also known as ASL.

You can move easily thorugh the course at your own pace. The overall design of the course is extremely effective and makes learning the language simple and fun.

The software that comes with the course will not only have you learning, but you will also be enjoying yourself too.

The first software that comes in the course is called MegaSpelling. With this software you will be able to learn the alphabet, 200 common names and 100 of the most common words in a very short period of time.

With the software not only will you be able to play the videos over and over again, but you will also be able to slow down the speed of the video until you get used to the signs.

What the software will do is show you signs and then you will give the answer. Your performance will then be scored and you will be able to see how well you are doing along the way.

The second piece of software is called MegaSign which will help teach you over 1,500 words and phrases. This part of the lessons go over all the stuff that you will need to know to communicate with the Deaf.

This software is categorized by topics. This means that you can pick a topic and learn all the signs in that category together, this will help you pick up on the language much faster.

The software even comes with speed control so that when you are first starting out you can slow down the speed of the signs.

The third section in the course is the Dictionary software. This software will allow you to look up a word and watch the video to learn that word's sign.

The software is really easy to use. All you have to do is type in the word that you wish to learn, then click the play button when the video comes up. The sign video will then play and you will also even hear the spoken word as well.

This is a really handy part of the course. I found myself referring back to the dictionary often to recall words that I had learned but couldn't quite remember.

The fourth component of this course is the learning guide. This guide comes with about thrity pages of additional information.

The guide goes into the history of American Sign Language and how it was developed. It also talks breifly about using the proper etiquette within the Deaf community. The guide gave me more of an understanding about ASL, which I really wasn't expecting to even learn in this course but it was cool.

As for the fifth component of the course, well I found this to actually be one of the most valuable parts... the members only forum that Rocket Languages provides. In these forums you can talk with other members as well as the Rocket Language online instructors.

In closing I would like to talk about the price of this sign langugae course. It is priced at just under one hundred dollars which makes it much lower then other courses being sold on the net.
